Josefina
About This Spot
Stepping into Josefina, you sense an inviting warmth that gently settles the day’s worries. This Italian restaurant in Wayzata unfolds with an easy, unhurried rhythm, where the hum of quiet conversations mingles with the soft clinks of glassware and the occasional pop of a wood-fired oven. The space embraces a refined yet approachable mood—familiar enough to feel like a local’s favorite, but attentive enough to mark a special occasion.
The atmosphere here hints at lakeside leisure without ever feeling casual or rushed. It’s the kind of place where a well-crafted Aperol Spritz or a carefully pulled espresso martini marks the start of an evening. The pace invites you to linger, savoring both the moment and the food, each bite unveiling thoughtful details that speak of genuine care and seasonal inspiration.
It’s in these moments that the menu reveals its charms—not just Italian staples, but dishes with a personal touch that invite discovery. Whether it’s the comforting, rich layers of a pasta that feels both bold and balanced, or a standout seasonal vegetable preparation, there’s a harmony between simplicity and nuance. Guests come back for a perfectly cooked pork chop or to share an unexpected bite of wood-fire roasted beet, each dish offering something quietly memorable.
The service reflects the space: intentional with a comfortable ease that makes you feel understood without intrusion. It’s that rare balance where the staff seems to anticipate your needs just before you realize them yourself, adding another layer to the experience. Parking is convenient yet unobtrusive, allowing your arrival and departure to be as smooth as the meal itself.
Whether you’re drawn for a casual night out or a thoughtful dinner, Josefina quietly invites you to slow down and savor the small, genuine moments that elevate a meal beyond the plate.

This is one of our favorite spots. Have not had a single meal that we did enjoy. Love the pork chop myself and my wife always gets the pasta. Beet salad is amazing! Always get great service here. There is valet parking out front and a large parking ramp in the back

Paid a first time visit this evening with a reservation. The food was exceptional, especially the “Agnolotti” duck confit pasta and the Banana bread dessert with olive oil gelato! Only disappointments were the roasted duck, it was a pretty small portion given the price ($38). It was tasty, but given the smaller portion and reasonably sized chunk of fat on one of the pieces my other guest was left still hungry. The first round of drinks that we got one of them was quite weak and full of ice (Could’ve just been subject to whoever poured them at the bar) because the second round was awesome! Decor was very inviting and the service was exceptional. Very attentive, but not to the extent that it disrupts your conversation or time. Will definitely come back, but be more selective on the drink menu most likely! being that I work from home and live in the area, I will probably come back to try the coffee and pastries in the morning as well

We had a great time. Our sever was nice and made sure we had a great time, are food came out very fast and was delicious and our atmosphere was good to. Definitely recommend going there to eat or get gelato

Intriguing that the pasta prices don’t match the value of the pizza or mains. That being said, get the pasta, go bold. Service is intentional yet casual and the multifaceted space still hangs on to the Blue Point lakeside vibes. The very best thing they offer is the gelato, don’t leave without trying some. Worth going out of you way for - highly recommended.

This place is great! Not a bad thing I can say about this place. I got the pork chop, which was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, very well seasoned and the sauce it came paired with it very well. The seasonal cocktail was also really good. Tasty, refreshing and well balanced. I also tried their Gemelli which was tasty but didn’t come close to the pork chop if you ask me. The ambiance was also delightful. If you like pork chops you must go here!

We came here for a birthday dinner and the experience was really up and down. Drinks were great — especially the Jose’s Margarita — but all of the appetizers were disappointing. The shrimp was overcooked with little flavor, the beef tartare had almost no seasoning and a very strong raw taste, and the other starters were just average at best. Thankfully, the entrées were much better. The lobster fusilli, seafood ravioli, spaghetti, pork chop, and beef were all cooked well and tasted great. Service, however, was not good. It was hard to find staff when we needed anything, and the attitude felt inattentive and unfriendly. Overall, decent main dishes but I would only come back for the entrées.

I was so impressed with the food and service! My friend and I had a lovely time. I don’t recall the name of our waitress but the receipt said AJ K. She was phenomenal - she was so positive, friendly and guided us on all our choices perfectly. She made a fun friend outing especially fun and special.
